'Last Young Renegade' out on 2 June 2017

As we has all guessed throughout the week, All Time Low have just released the cover art for their upcoming album Last Young Renegade, which will come out on 2 June 2017. It was designed by Sam Spratt. The pre-orders will start tomorrow.

Alex has just released a statement in which he explains the concept behind the album. You can read it below.
Who is the Last Young Renegade?
After all this time writing music, playing in a band- checking moment after moment off the bucket list- collecting mistakes, making memories, I wondered what it might be like to write about myself if I wasn't the one standing in my shoes. Who am I from the other side of the mirror?

I tried to change perspective in my approach to writing and center in on all of the different versions of me that other people might have met over the years, through the ups and the downs, in the public eye and behind closed doors. Would I like this person? Do I like this person? Do I even recognize this person anymore?

I realized that there's a lot more to me than I'm usually ready to acknowledge, both good and bad. In that realization, I noticed a common thread. We are who we are, even when we try our hardest not to be.

It's a challenge to accept it sometimes. I gave those other sides of me a persona, and a name-- then came the stories like a flood. It was a way for me to confront demons without having to sit at the dinner table with them.

That's the journey on this record: a story of self-realization. Of growing into your own skin through the eyes of someone watching it all unfold on the big screen, wearing a 'Frankie Says Relax' t-shirt. Like watching an old familiar movie, but suddenly you're Marty McFly.

We tried a lot of new things on this album, all within the context of what we love so much about All Time Low-- There's no denying that we were binge watching Stranger Things at the time, while also reflecting on the loss of some of our favorite musicians; Prince, Bowie, George Michael... I think the influence comes through in the best ways. We all felt pulled to exciting and different places as we searched for inspiration, approaching something that's become so familiar to us from a new direction.

I truly hope everyone listening enjoys this record as much as I do. It's been an amazing journey.

The album comes out June 2nd and will be available for pre-order on Friday, Feb 24th. We'll also be posting some pre-order merch bundles, so stay tuned!

xo

#LastYoungRenegade

All Time Low have finally revealed the cover art they have been teasing since Monday. The art is entitled Last Young Renegade. The picture features a man wearing the same attire as the child who brings Alex his new clothes in the Dirty Laundry video.

The picture has not yet been explained by the band but we can guess that it is going to be the cover for their seventh album. There is a clue on the plate of the red car - PSNDDF - which are the initials of every EP and album which the band has released on a major label: Put Up Or Shut Up / So Wrong, It's Right / Nothing Personal / Dirty Work / Don't Panic / Future Hearts.
The references to past albums are numerous. The striped background from Put Up Or Shut Up can be seen behind the character. The birds from So Wrong, It's Right are still flying on this cover. The skeleton hands remind us of the logo All Time Low has adopted from the Nothing Personal era. The bottle that is being popped open on the top left corner is a throwback to the cover art for Dirty Work, in which Alex is spraying alcohol everywhere. The monsters in the background, and the title in itself, are a reference to the lyrics of the first single off Don't Panic, The Reckless And The Brave. Finally, the car is mentioned in the opening song from Future Hearts, and was used on the poster of the Back To The Future Hearts Tour back in 2015.

What is more, the art foreshadows the band's increasing political engagement through their music. After donating to the ACLU to protest the US President's Muslim Ban, All Time Low has portrayed Trump in a TV news report entitled 'President bans pop punk'.
We will add more information as soon as we have updates.

All Time Low have posted the last piece of puzzle with the hashtag #LastYoungRenegade, which we encourage you to use on social media.

Check out the complete art below.

Last month, All Time Low sold a limited edition of a tee as well as a poster in order to raise money for the American Civil Liberties Union in response to US President's unjustified Muslim Ban.

All Time Low announced on social media that the proceeds amount a grand total of $12,000, to which the band added an extra $12,000. You can still donate to the ACLU here.
