Chile: Interview and pictures

Before All Time Low came to Chile, the website Rockaxis interviewed the band to talk about their show in Santiago, Blink-182 and their career. Read the article translated by Oh Calamity below.
How do you feel about coming to Chile?
We could not be more excited! It has taken us a long time to come here.

You have been on tour since you left high school. How did it change your lifestyle?
I don’t really think there was a way to prepare for this lifestyle, you know? We are now embracing this crazy lifestyle and it suits us perfectly.

You are big fans of Blink-182. How do you feel about having collaborated with Mark Hoppus on your latest album?
Mark is an amazing guy. He is really talented and his voice is unique. As we grew up listening to Blink-182, it means a lot that he is a part of the album.

You had already written with him on Nothing Personal but the song was not on the album. What happened?
It just never saw the light of day. At the time, we did not think it was good and it was not worthwhile to go back and try to recycle this idea. It is now in the Heaven of Songs.

When you listened to Blink-182 as teenagers, what did you like the most about the band?
I think that I liked how comfortable they were on stage. They gave me the impression that they did not need to act a certain way or attract a certain kind of people. They just did their thing, and that’s what we liked most about them. On top of that, their music is really catchy.

The collaborations are not specific to this latest album. You have also written with Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy and Rivers Cuomo, amongst others. How was the experience of working with them?
We’ve had the pleasure of working with so many talented people over the years. The best part is seeing into the creative mind of the artists we admire. You really learn a lot.

How important is it for you to bring something new to the process?
We can learn a lot from a collaboration. Every time we finish writing a song with a new artist, we assimilate new tricks and a new kind of songwriting. Nothing is as valuable as that.

How much has changed since the release of “The Party Scene”?
We’ve grown a lot. We were approximately 16 years old when we released our first album, we were only kids.

Do you think that “Future Hearts” is the best album you have ever released?
Yes, we will come to Chile with the best album of our career. Creatively, it is the best version of All Time Low.
Many new pictures from the concert in Santiago were added in our gallery. Check them out!
